Renewable energy consumption is increasing across the EU and the UK. Last year 40% of the energy consumed within the UK was created by renewable energy sources. A great percentage and one which many would like to see increase. However, it appears that utility companies are still investing greatly into carbon-heavy coal and natural gas resources leaving many feeling the investment into renewable resources should be greater.
It could be that this will soon change as the renewable energy sector is turning into the top pick for investors looking for long-termed investments. This reflects the concern over one of the biggest issues that are affecting our planet today.
